How to Resolve DNS Problem

 

Dear Authors,

 

  In Asia area, you may encountered the problem that you can not resolve the domain

www.softconf.com to IP address 69.10.135.168 these days.

  We have contacted to several ISP and try to solve this problem, but it was failed.

  Following we give you a temporal solution.

 

1. Locate your OS (windows 98/NT/2000/XP), in most cases, that is  C:\WINNT\

2. Find out the file "C:\WINNT\hosts", using "notepad" to edit it.

Adding a line as following

69.10.135.168     www.softconf.com

        save and exit

Note that : the file “hosts” may invisible in your system, just to open "My Computer/tool/folder option/", select "view" tab, check "View all file", press "OK".

 

3. Change dir to C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc

    Find out the file "C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts", using "notepad" to edit it.

 Adding a line as following:

69.10.135.168      www.softconf.com

save and exit

Note that you cannot copy the "hosts" file created in step 2.

 

4. When all of above finished, you can access:
